Otherwise, having loop triggers per pad is really nice. (6) When you drag in a loop, it would be nice to have a dialogue pop up that asks you if you want to slice the loop and map them onto separate pads automatically. Not a big deal, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to work this way or not. Maybe this is the way it's intended to be. As of now, when you have multi-outs and have effects on the first pad, switching to a new pad and output doesn't give you a new channel strip with insert slots. I assumed each pad would have its own channel strip if you assign it to its own output. (5) I'm still confused about the mixer and effects for the kit. so that when you click back and forth between the layers, you get a good idea of what each layer is doing within one pad. (4) Clicking on a layer tab should play back the sample as it's been edited including level, envelope shaping, etc. Otherwise you can end up in a situation where layers within one pad are sent to different outputs and sample levels are being controlled together if you're not careful. It would be nice if the "main" page controlled the levels for the pad and the "sample" page controlled the sample parameters straight away. (3) Toggling between "SEL" and "PAD" to switch control between sample layers and the whole pad is a little cumbersome.
#USING GROOVE AGENT 4 SE FULL#
The GA GUI is pretty big so having that and media bay open takes up more than one full screen. Would be nice to have a browser where you can set your drum sample and/or loops folder as a favorite and drag in samples that way. (2) No built-in browser so I have to use media bay. I do wish it would read the CMC-PD shift+new bank command to move to the next page on its own, but no biggie here. Just click the "use hardware controller mapping" button and hit each pad once and the whole page is mapped. Steinberg Groove Agent SE Acoustic Agent 1.0.2 Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH - Shareware - Groove Agent 4 is your go-to drum workstation that comes with drum modules for different acoustic and electronic drum styles. So, even if you dont know much about programming your own drum patterns, or just want something to quickly jam to, Groove Agent SE has you covered. Yes, Groove Agent has sequences built-in. It took me 10 secs with my CMC-PD and I like the fact that you map one pad and the GUI automatically moved to the next pad. Not only can you use Cubase 8s Groove Agent SE as a sample-based drum machine (where you trigger individual drum hits), but also as a drum pattern player. It contains the transport controls, the group buttons, and the pads.
The pad section is located on the left in the plug-in window. Pattern pads trigger MIDI drum patterns or styles. Instrument pads are used to trigger samples.
#USING GROOVE AGENT 4 SE MANUAL#
Just finished looking through the manual and playing with it for a few minutes. Groove Agent SE features two different types of pads: instrument pads and pattern pads.
